Athlete Participation Fund

When you’re ready to up your game, Sport Yukon wants to help you get there.

The Athlete Participation Fund helps families manage the expenses from travel within and outside of the Yukon to compete as a representative Yukon athlete.

Jamie Shaw Memorial Fund

The Jamie Shaw Memorial Fund, named in honour of the late coach and teacher, is charged with providing financial support for access to training and development for Yukon athletes and coaches.
 
The fund honours Jamie’s commitment to life-long learning by providing financial support to athletes and coaches

Gerry Thick Memorial Fund

This fund, named for the Whitehorse City Counsellor and avid supporter of sport in the Yukon, aims to support Yukoners interested in becoming sport or recreation professionals.

Two $1000 grants are offered each year to aid Yukoners in their educational pursuits in the sport and recreation field, and to bring their knowledge back to the Yukon after graduation.

In-Territory Travel 

 

Travelling costs can easily add up when you’re an athlete or coach.

The In-Territory Travel Program helps cover costs incurred for travel to Arctic Winter Games trials, Yukon representative team travel, coach training opportunities, as well as travel for all Yukon Championships.

Air North GOAL Fund

 

Air North, Yukon’s Airline is committed to Giving Our Athletes a Lift (GOAL).

 

The fund provides selected Yukon athletes with Air North travel certificates to assist them in their sport development. Eligible athletes are members of Yukon Sport Governing Bodies and are committed to year round training in their sport.
